Landscaping 2008-09

With the major construction done, attention turned to cleaning up the mess outside and beginning to landscape. This included:

The garage -
built for cars of the 20's, needed to be rebuilt while maintaining the footprint close to the property line.

New garage door

The driveway -
an ugly stretch of asphault patched over the years had to be replaced.
We chose to replace it with a classical style of two concrete tracks with grass in the median.

The herb garden -
built on a slope from the escarpment, the house had had a steep slope at the back. We chose to use boulders from the pantry excavation to build a three level rock garden which we planted with herbs and some flowers.

The back lawn and vegetable gardens -
once repaired and reseeded, we built vegetable patches in the back lawn
