Kitchen Renovation - 2007

Before

After

While still living in Victoria, B.C., awaiting the sale of our house, we decided to begin renovations. Our contractor/carpenter, Gerry, and I went on November 9th and began the process of turning the dining room back into the kitchen.

Sometime in the 20's or 30's, my grandfather had decided that he wanted a parlour for formal functions - weddings and meetings with international visitors (often missionaries from Africa.)

Consequently, the kitchen had been relugated to the small pantry at the back of the house to make way for a new dining room. This arrangement clearly didn't work well in the old days and it seemed clear to us that the first renovation task had to be the re-creation of the kitchen.
