Achel Brown as "our Bordeaux". Roasted malt and brown sugar are blended with Pils malt. It has a massive fruit bouquet - raisins and sultanas - along with biscuity malt. The long, bittersweet palate and finish have rich, chewy malt, tart hops and burnt fruit (23 IBUs).

Nice amber pour with an off-white head. Sweet dark fruits with a bit of spice, some banana, and some toasted malt and toffee. A bit of yeast on the finish. The malt sweetness translates quite well to the flavor. A lot of toffee, toasted malt, and caramel. Moderate fruit notes of raisin and banana. Just a bit of clove spiciness.

The aroma and initial taste was green apple, interestingly. That’s not a common flavour. But it’s fleeting. A sharp liquorice quickly kicks in, which itself is then taken over by rich malt. That sweetness evolves into good bitter finish. Quite a lot of fine bubbles. 8%.

Beer pale blond color, nice balanced bitterness, resinous and floral notes. Slight alcohol.

Brown colour with a nice and creamy tan head; perfect lasting, maintain a thin layer, nice lacing. Aroma is toasty, sugay, caramelish and dry fruits. Flavour is sweet, caramel, toasty, light spicy, bready with plumbcake hints and dry fruits. The final is light bittery and sweet with good balance. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high.

a clear, golden yellow Trappist beer that undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle (9,5% alcohol). It is a complex beer with a fruity aroma and a nice nuanced hop scent. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with a bitter touch carried by the fruity aroma. An exceptional beer, with a great deal of finesse and elegance. And with a splendid long aftertaste.
